  • For International Women's Day, Meghan Markle spoke on a panel at King's College in London.

  • Meghan discussed Prince Harry's feminism during the panel.

  • The Duchess of Sussex also elaborated on "what gender equality means to me."

Meghan Markle made a solo appearance for International Women's Day this week, to speak on a panel hosted by the Queen's Commonwealth Trust.

As an outspoken feminist, the Duchess of Sussex was the perfect person to join the panel, which also included Gurls Talk founder and model Adwoa Aboah, musician and founder of The Circle NGO Annie Lennox, Global Institute for Women's Leadership Chair Julia Gillard, Let Us Learn founder Chrisann Jarrett, and CAMFED Executive Director Angeline Murimirwa.

Meghan enthused that feminism needs to be global, and to transcend gender, if it's truly going to work. Mentioning Prince Harry, she adorably explained, "I hope that men are part of the conversation. My husband certainly is!"

Describing the importance of supporting one another and working together, Meghan explained:

"For men to understand they can be feminists as well. You understand that your strength includes knowing your vulnerabilities. And your sense of self and security, your confidence, comes in knowing that a woman by your side, not behind you, is actually something you shouldn't be threatened about, but as opposed to that you should feel really empowered in having that additional support. That this is really about us working together, that's what gender equality means to me."

For the royal visit, Meghan wore a black and white minidress by Reiss, with a black McQueen blazer and Manolo Blahnik BB pumps. She accessorized the look with Jessica McCormack Signature Diamond Gyset Hoop earrings, and carried a Stella McCartney clutch.
