The royals just reportedly took a holiday in Ibiza for Meghan’s birthday.
Today in Meghan Markle’s life is better than yours, the Duchess just arrived for a(nother) FOMO-inducing vacation in Nice, France — along with her husband, casual royal Prince Harry, and their adorable son Archie. Who, by the way, was wearing the cutest jaunty striped sweater e-v-e-r.
The Sussexes were photographed disembarking from a private jet in the South of France in photos published by the Daily Mail, which will presumably cause some controversy due to Prince Harry’s environmental activism.
This trip to Nice appears to have come just a few days after Archie, Meghan, and Harry’s recent vacation to Ibiza for Meghan’s birthday, and the Daily Mail reports that their plane cost more than £20,000 to hire. Actually, to be honest the trip is already causing controversy — at least with Princess Diana’s former protection officer Ken Wharfe, who said, “Frankly, it’s hypocritical. Harry can’t be preaching about the catastrophic effects of climate change while jetting around the world on a private plane.”
Meanwhile, Labour MP Teresa Pearce said she was “surprised” by the whole private jet thing considering “the position they have taken publicly about being responsible on climate change.”
It’s true that private jets are hugely wasteful, but considering Harry and Meghan would never be able to take a regular flight without having their privacy (and Archie’s!) completely invaded, the decision seems more understandable?
