Meghan Markle's Wimbledon Outfit Might Have a Secret Meaning

Along with a hidden message to Prince Harry.

As a royal, anything Meghan Markle wears gets noticed, photographed, and dissected after she wears it. That’s just part of the gig, and so far, Meghan is doing an incredible job of choosing the perfect ensembles for all sorts of royal occasions. Her latest look is not only chic and stylish, but possibly a nod to a significant time in her life: her first date with Prince Harry!

Meghan hit up Wimbledon alongside her sister-in-law Kate Middleton on Saturday, July 14 to support her pal Serena Williams, wearing a classic blue striped button-down shirt and crisp white wide-legged pants from Ralph Lauren to the match.

According to Elle, the outfit may have been a nod to her blind date with the prince. Back in 2016, Meghan was a guest of Ralph Lauren’s at Wimbledon and that’s where her friend and Ralph Lauren employee Violet von Westenholz, decided to set up the actress with Harry. (Prince Harry was friends with Violet when they were kids.) Was Meghan wearing Ralph Lauren to send a “thank you” of sorts to the brand? Perhaps! It would be cute if so, and a fun little reminder that life can take you anywhere, and everything often comes full circle.

This isn’t the first time Meghan’s outfits have been analyzed and explored for hidden meanings. The embroidery on her show-stopping wedding veil represented all 53 countries of the Commonwealth, for example, and even the nail polish she chooses is subject to debate. Regardless, it’s obvious that Meghan has become a serious fashion icon and that she’s having fun with her looks — whether or not there’s any important meaning behind them.
