Meghan Markle's ‘Something Blue' Was Also a ‘Something Borrowed'...from Princess Diana

After making their debut as royal newlyweds at their daytime reception, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did a quick outfit change and stepped out in style: the new duchess in a white custom Stella McCartney gown and the duke in a black tux. In a very James Bond–esque exit, they hopped into an ice-blue Jaguar (with their wedding-date license plate) and drove off to their more exclusive nighttime reception. (The name’s Sussex, Duke and Duchess Sussex, to you.)

Upon closer inspection, it seems that in a touching tribute to Princess Diana, Meghan Markle wore the late princess’s giant emerald-cut aquamarine ring designed in 1997 by Asprey, which was given to Diana from Prince Charles as a wedding gift. The glittering jewel shone almost as much as the beaming couple, who waved goodbye from the 1968 electric Jaguar.

Of course, we’d expect nothing less than “something priceless blue” for the royal bride.
