After weeks of speculation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced they are expecting their first child.

Kensington Palace shared the news this morning, as Meghan and Harry kicked off their royal tour of Fiji, Australia, Tonga, and New Zealand.

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019," reads the official announcement. "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."

Meghan Markle's mom, Doria Ragland, has also issued a sweet statement through Kensington Palace about her daughter's news, saying she is "very happy at this lovely news and is looking forward to welcoming her first grandchild."

According to Daily News royal correspondent Rebecca English, the Palace "declined to comment on whether her father, Thomas Markle, had been told."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly shared their happy news with the rest of the royal family at Princess Eugenie's wedding on Friday, and Ragland is hardly the only one offering congratulations this morning. The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are “delighted for the couple.”

At this point, it's unclear exactly when the newest member of the Sussex family will arrive, though Meghan's due date is sometime in Spring of 2019.
