Meghan Markle's Grenfell Tower Fire Tribute
Meghan Markle and the Queen appear to be having a lovely time on this morning's royal visit to Cheshire. But the day of events also featured one sadly poignant moment. Meghan and the Queen observed a national moment of silence at noon in memory of the people who died in the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

On this day last year, a fire destroyed Grenfell Tower, killing 72 people. According to NBC News, it was "Britain’s deadliest domestic fire since World War II" and some of those who survived are still struggling to return to normalcy.
The BBC reports that, "52 households remained in temporary accommodation" one year after the fire. "Another 68 are in "emergency" accommodation - 42 in hotels, 22 in serviced apartments, and four staying with family or friends."
Earlier this year it was reported that Meghan had been taking secret meetings to visit those who were affected by the tragedy. “It means so much," one person told the Mirror.
Royal correspondents Emily Andrews and Chris Ship pointed out that the moment of silence likely wasn't the Queen's only tribute to the victims of the fire. Her vibrant, lime-colored outfit was perhaps a nod to the Green for Grenfell campaign, in which people are wearing green today in memory of those who died.
Ahem.... green??! #GreenForGrenfell

In addition to the moment of silence, Meghan's first solo appearance with the Queen includes opening a bridge, taking in a performance at a local theater, and lunch at the Chester Town Hall. They'll travel back to London later today.
