Meghan & Harry Are Living in the Lap of Luxury With This Many Staff Members

Just how big is the metaphorical village that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry are employing to help raise their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor? The answer may surprise you. UK outlet The Daily Mail revealed on Thursday just how many staff Meghan and Harry have at Frogmore Cottage to help make their lives run so smoothly and we never would have guessed this number. Nope, not in a million years.

In an interview with Grazia magazine (via The Daily Mail), royal reporter Katie Nicholl claimed that Meghan and Harry are forgoing a traditional staff set-up, saying, “The couple have yet to hire a nanny, chef or a team of staff at their new family home.” If Nicholl is correct in her claims, then it’s only Meghan, Harry and for the time being, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland who are living at Frogmore. We always knew Meghan and Harry weren’t going to abide by royal tradition, eschewing certain practices in favor of doing things on their own terms, but no staff? No butlers, maids, cooks? No night nurses to help with feeding Archie in the wee hours of the morning?

We’re not sure how long this set-up is meant to last with Harry resuming his royal duties and Meghan easing back into public appearances just one week after giving birth. I admire their dedication to keeping an intimate set-up around the house right now because, as royals, all of the potential activity that could be going on with a large staff could be overwhelming for a newborn. That said, Meghan and Harry’s situation is markedly different and comes with a unique set of circumstances that most parents don’t face (and that’s not to shade new parents at all), so it feels inevitable that some staff will be hired soon… right?
