Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Have Arrived For Their Last Royal Engagement
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have joined the Queen, Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for their last official duties as senior royals.
The couple attended the annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey on Monday (9th March) and were seen smiling and waving to crowds as they entered the venue.
Meghan wore a green caped dress by Emilia Wickstead with a matching fascinator, accessorising it with a green Gabriella Hearst bag and blush pink pumps.
After their visit to Ireland last week, Kate and William also attended the ceremony with Kate wearing a burgundy coat dress, fascinator and pumps.
The service celebrates the community across the Commonwealth spanning geography, religion and culture, and will include a reflection delivered by boxer Anthony Joshua and performances by Alexandra Burke and Craig David.
Last year, the Duchesses of Sussex and Cambridge wore looks inspired by the AW19 runway trend for fun headgear. Middleton looked unreal in a bold red ensemble, rewearing her Catherine Walker coat (she debuted the military-style coat during her 2014 tour of New Zealand) alongside a chic fascinator, grey clutch and pair of shoes, for the 2019 event.
Her sister-in-law, who was eight months pregnant at the time, also opted to colour-block, going for something of a suffragette white ensemble pairing a cream coat, with a matching hat - reminiscent of Jackie O's 1960s style - with a Victoria Beckham dress and green shoes and bag.
Harry and Meghan will officially step down from their roles on March 31, 2020 indicating next week's service may well be one of their final royal duties before they and their son Archie split their time between north America and the UK and become financially independent from the monarchy.
The couple returned to the royal engagement scene in style last week, after spending a lot of time in the US and Canada. They attended the Endeavour Fund awards for the third year in a row (where they witnessed a marriage proposal!) then colour-coordinated in red for a music concert on Saturday evening.
Separately, Meghan visited the National Theatre, of which she is a patron, and made a surprise visit to a secondary school in Dagenham to mark International Women's Day.
