The best musical artists gathered on Sept. 12 for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, and many pulled out all the stops for their red-carpet looks.

Arriving earlier in the evening, Megan Thee Stallion looked absolutely stunning in a form-fitting black dress with a thick diamond necklace, matching bracelet and slicked-back hair.

Megan let the outfit speak for itself as she posed on the red carpet rocking the corseted strapless dress, which had darker black piping to add detail and structure. The dress was fully sheer, and the rapper wore matching underwear underneath.

The outfit was completed by a dark lip and sultry eye makeup, along with strappy heels and long glittery nails. It seemed like Megan was feeling fairly confident, displaying her bold personality in fun poses.

The overall consensus on the look from fans was positive, with comments on X (previously known as Twitter) including, "MOTHER IS MOTHERING," and "She looks so fkn good. GLOWING MAMA GLOWING."

"THAT FACE CARD NEVER DECLINES MY GAWD!! YES MEG," wrote another, praising the rapper's beauty.

Of course, there were a few people who weren't so enthusiastic about the look, seeing it as boring, with one fan writing, "Dress is Mehhh but face is FACING!!!"

The 28-year-old Grammy winner was nominated for three VMAs heading into the evening for her song "HER." She was also named as a performer ahead of the 2023 awards show. Prior to the event, it was expected that she and Cardi B would perform their latest collab. "Bongos."

Megan is no stranger to the VMAs, having previously won two trophies, including one for "Hot Girl Summer" (featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign) in 2019 and another for "Savage" in 2020.

Other artists nominated at the 2023 VMAs include Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Taylor Swift, Drake, Doja Cat, Bad Bunny, and more.
