Megan Thee Stallion, Kate Moss, Kaia Gerber and More Star in Coach’s New Spring 2021 Virtual Presentation

With most of the spring ’21 season shown virtually this fashion month, it’s been difficult to keep everyones attention.

Which is why Coach tapped not just one but more than 10 bold-faced names for its own virtual presentation, which it showed Tuesday, outside of its usual New York Fashion Week slot.

The “show” began with a singular Instagram post of music artist Megan Thee Stallion, standing in a desert-like location outside of Los Angeles, wearing an organic cotton and recycled-material trench coat, a brown leather tote and kitten heels. “Welcome to Forever,” read the caption, introducing its “Coach Forever” collection for spring ’21.

Through the lens of famed German photographer Juergen Teller, Coach tapped names like Kaia Gerber, Cole Sprouse, Jon Batiste and Hari Nef to model the new collection. It even got Kate Moss and Debbie Harry, the latter of which performed live at the brand’s last NYFW show, in February.

Outside of the star-studded lineup to attract a few eyes on social, the foundation of the brand’s new collection lies in sustainability, it’s “Forever” tag line suggesting that the pieces included are meant to be kept not just for one season.

“With Coach Forever, I wanted to find new ways of doing things,” Coach creative director Stuart Vevers said in the collection’s press release. “It was important to me to challenge how we create our collections, and consider their impact on our communities and the planet. I’m excited to keep exploring that through designing and learning, and to have brought this to life with Juergen and our Coach Family.”

The collection includes classic pieces, like Stallion’s trench coat or denim trousers, flannel shirts and pajama-like separates. All focus on personalization that includes embroidery, hand painting and lots of pins — an effort that the brand has brought to its handbag collections in previous seasons.

On foot, it seems that Coach is going all-in on the “ugly” sandal, and there were plenty of them, worn with cozy, fuzzy socks. There were also a handful of logo slipper slides.
