Spooky yet chic.
We all know Megan Fox loves to experiment with her nails. She's tried just about every over-the-top nail trend we can think of, and even played a part in creating a few herself. Pink chrome, cotton candy aura, dewdrop, spiderweb chrome, black cherry, and astrology designs are just a few of her most memorable looks.
We all also know that Fox is a Halloween pro. Last year, she went viral for her Pamela Anderson costume that inspired us all to try out the icon's signature glam, and also debuted a blood drop manicure that couldn't be more perfect for spooky season.
So it makes sense that for this Halloween she went over-the-top both with her costume and her nail art with a Kill Bill look and tattoo manicure.
Though her matching look with boo (get it?) Machine Gun Kelly was cosplay perfection, we were mostly staring at her nails, done by her go-to manicurist, Brittney Boyce.
Ultra-long and square-shaped, Fox's nails were a cherry red color that has been trending everywhere lately. Boyce used Arctic Fox's Poison ($12) for the base, then added mismatched gothic-Americana tattoo designs on each—all of them with their own unique combination. Reminiscent of the style of Fox's actual dainty finger tattoos, each of the designs were fine-line and all-black. Some fingers had slithering snakes, others a crescent moon and stars, and more had an anatomical heart, snake, spider, and barbed wire.
While the nails look like something Fox would wear in her daily life, they were actually part of her costume—Kill Bill's Gogo Yubari, the 17-year-old assassin who fights Uma Thurman's character.
Her makeup continued the gore glam. With a base of everyday wearable makeup—matte skin, some light blush, long fluttery lashes, pink lips, and a thick stroke of eyeliner—there were also bloody tears. Dripping down the inner and middle parts of her eye was hyper-realistic blood that matched the blood-red color on her nails and the red bow tied around her neck.
A typical schoolgirl ensemble, Fox wore a pleated plaid miniskirt under a white button-up and navy blue blazer. She pulled up her white tube socks all the way to her knees and accessorized with a cross-body bag and the aforementioned red bow. Pin-straight black hair with blunt bangs finished off her look, as did her boyfriend in Thurman's iconic yellow jumpsuit.
