Megan Fox's Chrome Manicure Features Bedazzled Nail Piercings

Equal parts edgy and blingy.

Another day, another over-the-top, inventive manicure on the fingers of Megan Fox. The actor is simply the undisputed queen of maximalist manicures, more often than not incorporating her signature edge in the designs. Blood-dripped nails, goth Barbiecore chrome, “Devil Red,” solid gold, and a manicure dedicated to her star sign are some of the many different nail looks she has worn as of late. However, none of them topped the extreme details on her latest mani.

On February 19, Fox’s go-to manicurist, Brittney Boyce—the same nail artist behind many of the aforementioned experimental looks—posted two videos showing off the duo’s latest creation together. Designed to pair with the star's People’s Choice Awards outfit, Boyce painted Fox’s nails with the perfect dark silver chrome. Then, she added a newly on-trend accessory to each finger: a nail piercing.

In detail, each of Fox’s nails matched with the same base design. On top of a medium-length, almond-shaped nail, each was the perfect silver chrome color—not glazed donut chrome, not black chrome, simply just shiny and classic silver. Though this is a color the star has worn on multiple occasions, it was the accessories at the tip of each nail that made it all the more exciting.

Though each nail didn’t have the same exact charm pierced through it, they did all match in theme. Some nails, like her left middle finger, simply had a hoop poked through the chrome. However, others had bedazzled charms and designs dangling off the tip. Both her pointer fingers had a shiny star, one of her ring fingers a heart, and the other a cross. The piercings themselves matched the nails in silver color while the rhinestones embedded in them brought a reflective white shine to the nail look.

Obviously, for a manicure as major as this one, the outfit and glam had to do it justice—which it sure did.

Paired with her freshly debuted marshmallow pink shag haircut, she wore a shiny, off-the-shoulder white Vivienne Westwood dress. Of course, she added some edge with a thick black choker, avant-garde silver hand jewels, and a big matching ring. (True Foxheads couldn't help but notice the resemblance to the prom dress she wears in the final scene of Jennifer's Body.)

However, it was Fox's makeup that brought the signature Megan edge to the look. Celebrity makeup artist Jenna Kristina used all Maybelline products to paint the star's face, centered around some cherry red patent leather lips. Kristina says she “used the Maybelline Color Sensational Ultimatte ($10) in More Truffle to line the outer edge of the lips and the same product in More Ruby in the center." Then, "to get that insanely reflective glossy effect," she "layered Lifter Gloss in Pearl ($11) on top. It almost looked like the perfect candy apple.”
