Megan Fox is an actress and model, and now she's a published poet and author.

The Expend4bles star announced that her first book will hit shelves on Nov. 7, 2023.

Her debut book is titled Pretty Boys Are Poisonous: Poems.

"These poems were written in an attempt to excise the illness that had taken root in me because of my silence," she said in a statement from publisher Simon & Schuster. "I've spent my entire life keeping the secrets of men, my body aches from carrying the weight of their sins. My freedom lives in these pages, and I hope that my words can inspire others to take back their happiness and their identity by using their voice to illuminate what's been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness."

What is Megan Fox's book about?

Pretty Boys Are Poisonous is a collection of 79 poems Fox wrote about her experiences with men. Simon & Schuster describes the poetry as a combination of "heartbreaking and dark" and sometimes hilarious—just about exactly what you'd expect from the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model.

Describing the tome as a "powerful debut from one of the most well-known women of our time," the publisher urges readers to "turn the page, bite the apple, and sink your teeth into the most deliciously compelling and addictive book you'll read all year."

Fox previously said she had some dark stories in her arsenal from throughout her life and career, but didn't feel comfortable speaking about them publicly.

"Even with the #MeToo movement, and everyone coming out with stories—and one could assume that I probably have quite a few stories, and I do—I didn’t speak out for many reasons. I just didn’t think based on how I’d been received by people, and by feminists, that I would be a sympathetic victim," she told The New York Times in 2019. "And I thought if ever there were a time where the world would agree that it's appropriate to victim-shame someone, it would be when I come forward with my story."

Fox echoed those sentiments in a 2022 interview with Glamour U.K., explaining that while she suffered through "genuinely harrowing experiences in a ruthlessly misogynistic industry," she kept quiet because she thought she'd be torn down. "I was always speaking out against some of the abusive, misogynistic, patriarchal things that were going on in Hollywood back in 2008 and 2009, way before people were ready to embrace that or tolerate it," she added. "And I actually got ridiculed for doing it. I think people just have had time to review that, in retrospect."
