Megan Fox is clapping back at those who criticized her for asking fans to donate to a friend's GoFundMe.

The controversy began when the Jennifer's Body star shared a donation link on her Instagram Story on July 25, captioning it, "My friends [sic] dad was just diagnosed with pancreatic cancer if you guys are able to help please do." The fundraiser was made by Nails of LA owner Brittney Boyce, whose client is Fox, among other high-profile clientele like Kim Kardashian, Kerry Washington, and Jenna Dewan.

Fans were quick to call out the New Girl alum, who has a net worth of $8 million, pointing out that it didn't seem as if she donated any money, with one writing on Twitter, "why do multi millionaires post go fund me pages when they could literally pay it all themselves. idk megan fox absolutely did not slay w this one like i’m sure she easily has 15k lying about could get that to halfway."

On July 27, Fox responded to the backlash with an Instagram Story clarifying the situation.

"Hey weirdos, do any of you have the emotional intelligence to consider that maybe brit doesn't want her celebrity clients donating large sums of money to her because it creates a dynamic in her working relationships that makes her uncomfortable?" questioned the actress.

Her message continued, "So instead she asked me to post the gofundme so that people could donate small amounts of money to help them reach their goal. I just obliged her request. anything she needs from me personally she will ask and i will do it privately."

She closed her statement noting, "One thing you're not going to accuse me of is being miserly or lacking generosity so try again on another day (probably tmwr! [tomorrow]) with some different bullshit you bunch of psychos."

The donation page has raised about $8,000 of its $60,000 goal so far.
