Meet ‘Sarastar,’ the 197-Foot Superyacht With the Wildest Interior on the High Seas

The 197-foot superyacht Sarastar is all about color, from its dark-blue hull and silver superstructure, to the blue, purple and mustard velvet upholstery and backlit pear-green onyx walls. At night, underwater LEDs and exterior strip lighting ensure the yacht glows like a mermaid’s rainbow purse.

Sarastar was launched in 2017 as Mondomarine’s flagship yacht. Its starring role came in 2023 when it was the setting for Netflix film Murder Mystery, which sees Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston attempt to solve a murder that occurred on the yacht during a charter in the Mediterranean.

Exterior design is by Luca Dini, while the interior is by the owner’s Italian design team, and they didn’t hold back. High-gloss floors and a white onyx bar greet guests as soon as their feet hit the teak. Glass floors and mirrored ceilings reflect light inside, outside and in between decks. Marble interior floors in green, white, pink and gold are twinned with green malachite vases, Baccarat crystal glassware and gilded dinner plates. In the VIP suite, there’s a crocodile-skin sofa, semi-precious stones and Stefano Ricci custom silk textiles.

While the interior is a treat for the eyes, Sarastar’s four signature scents bring personalized aromas, and the yacht’s jellyfish net turns the sea into a private pool.

Here are 10 facts you didn’t know about one of the world’s most multi-colored boats. If you love the interior or would be more inclined to redecorate, it’s for sale for an undisclosed sum through Camper & Nicholsons.
