Meet Leah Halton, the influencer who could break the most-liked TikTok video record

An Australian model is on track to break the record for the most-liked TikTok video of all time.

The 23-year-old posted a video of herself in the car lip-syncing to “Praise Jah in the Moonlight” by YG Marley, and it’s possible that the short clip could become the most liked on the platform.

The clip is just 12 seconds long and begins with Halton’s face close up to the camera — an angle that’s become signature for her — then she backs away and starts singing along while smiling.

First posted on Feb. 5, the post has garnered 642.7 million views, 44.8 million likes, 1.5 million comments and 4 million saves as of Monday morning.

Many of the comments include people noting how many likes the video has at the time the user viewed it.

“44.7M April 15 anybody here??” one person commented earlier Monday morning.

“42.1M 14 april anyone??” someone wrote on Sunday.

Currently, the most liked video on TikTok is another simple video — a 10-second clip of Bella Poarch lip-syncing to “M to the B” by Millie B.

The video, which was originally posted in 2020, has 65.7 million likes as of Monday morning — and it’s on track to be out-liked by Halton’s video, considering it was posted just two months ago.

PopBuzz shared a top 10 list of the most liked videos on TikTok, last updated Feb. 26, 2024, and while many still hold their spots, Halton’s is very quickly catching up.

Poarch’s video came in first on the list, and filling out the top 5 on the list were: Nick Luciano’s “Sugar Crush” parody video (52.8 million likes, posted 2021); Jamie32bish’s viral clip dancing to Nelly Furtado’s “Say It Right” (52.7 million views, posted 2022); Franek Bielak’s artwork (51.6 million likes, posted 2020); and Totouchanemu’s dancing to The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s “STAY” (45.2 million likes, posted 2021).

At the moment, Halton’s video has surpassed the video PopBuzz listed as the sixth most liked TikTok video: Billie Eilish’s first video ever, which has 40.9 million likes and was posted back in 2020.

And at the rate Halton’s video is circulating, it’s on the way to setting a new record.
