Joe Biden's granddaughters are celebrating their grandpa's win!

President-elect Joe Biden accepted his election victory, Saturday, November 7, with his wife, Jill Biden, his children, and of course, his beloved grandchildren. Not only did they all join him on stage in Delaware following his victory speech, but Biden’s granddaughter Naomi Biden posted a sweet photo of Biden sharing a group hug with his grandchildren after learning he was elected the 46th president of the United States.

NBC News reports Biden and his family were “enjoying the warm fall weather on their backyard patio Saturday morning when from inside their home, a chorus of applause erupted.” The grandchildren rushed over to him, telling him, “Pop, Pop! We won.”

The moment was captured on a Polaroid camera and sees Biden smiling from ear to ear as his granddaughters and grandsons embrace him. “11.07.20,” she captioned the sweet shot.

Naomi also shared another tweet—this time, a throwback photograph of her grandparents back in the day. “They’ve come a long, long, way together,” she wrote.

Biden’s granddaughters and grandsons have also made a few appearances during this year’s Democratic National Convention. They kicked off the Pledge of Allegiance, they appeared in videos talking about Jill Biden prior to her keynote speech, and four of them spoke on the fourth and final night.

There are six Biden grandchildren: Natalie Biden, Robert “Hunter” Biden II, Finnegan Biden, Maisy Biden, Naomi Biden, and a baby grandson whose name has not been publicly released. As part of the last night of the DNC, Biden’s granddaughters, Natalie, Naomi, Finnegan, and Maisy, appeared in a video montage talking about their relationship with their grandfather and their support for his campaign.

“He’s always eating ice cream,” Maisy said. His preferred flavor? Vanilla. The four young women revealed that the former vice president eats ice cream facing the freezer to hide it, calls them each every day, and lives for family togetherness.

According to the granddaughters, it was them who called a family meeting to discuss his campaign—and all of them firmly encouraged him to run.

The Bidens’ family history is well-known, given that they have been through multiple tragedies over the decades. Joe Biden had three children with his first wife, Neilia Hunter Biden: Beau, Hunter, and Naomi. Neilia and Naomi were tragically killed in a 1972 car accident. Biden became a single father to his two young sons, married Jill Biden in 1977, and welcomed daughter Ashley Biden in 1981. In 2015, Beau Biden tragically passed away from brain cancer.

Naomi is the oldest Biden granddaughter, born to Hunter and Kathleen in 1993 (she’s named after Hunter’s late sister). She attended the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia Law School. This spring she and her boyfriend, Peter Neal, created an online tool that helps people figure out if they are eligible for CARES Act benefits. “It was a very intimidating prospect to figure out how to create a website, and how to do the quiz and code the calculator,” Naomi told MTV News.

Finnegan, Naomi’s sister, was born in 2000. She’s a rising senior at Penn and has maintained a low profile, although she did attend a Biden campaign rally at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa.

Maisy, the younger sister of Naomi and Finnegan, was born in 2001. “Her best friend is Sasha Obama,” Joe Biden said in 2019, sharing that the Biden and Obama families had a joint party when the two young women graduated from Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. “Barack and Jill and the whole family, we had a whole get-together,” he said.

Natalie, age 16, is the oldest child of the late Beau Biden and his wife, Hallie. On the second night of the convention, she spoke on behalf of the Biden grandkids in a segment introducing Jill Biden, giving viewers a glimpse of their family life. “I would say she’s not your average grandmother,” Natalie said. “She’s a prankster, she’s very mischievous. When she goes on a run, sometimes she’ll find, like, a dead snake and she’ll pick it up and put it in a bag and she’ll use it to scare someone.”

There are also two Biden grandsons: 14-year-old Robert “Hunter” Biden, Natalie’s younger brother, and a baby boy born to Hunter Biden and his new wife Melissa Cohen. Hunter Biden also shares a young child with Lunden Roberts.

Joe Biden has been incredibly open about his past heartaches, but his grandchildren have remained relatively private until this year’s convention. Naomi has a public-facing Instagram, where she occasionally shares pictures of her siblings, cousins, and grandparents. And if her posts are anything to go by, it seems like the family is super close and supportive—and we’ll be seeing a lot of them in the White House.
