Meet Hamlet, the pint-size therapy pig and Insta star

Your week is about get a whole lot better. Meet Hamlet, the cutest pet pig you’ve ever seen. Hamlet spends her days going on adventures near and far from her home in Nashville. What’s life like for a pig in the big city? One look at Hamlet’s Instagram offers a peek into her very exciting life. From dressing up in funny wigs and glasses to even driving a car (don’t worry — she has her license), this little piggy will leave you squealing with delight.

Despite her seemingly glam lifestyle (tea parties, fancy clothes, and hot wheels), Hamlet does a whole lot more than just hang out and look pretty — she’s also a therapy animal for her “mom” Melanie Gomez. Gomez was diagnosed with epilepsy while in college, and when her seizures got worse, she looked for help via a therapy animal. She told the website Bored Panda, “My husband wanted a companion for me, but he is extremely allergic to dogs and cats. I showed him a video of a mini pig playing with a dog and he was sold.” She added: “Hamlet saved me. My epilepsy taught me how frail life can be. Hamlet taught me that life is a beautiful gift despite its frailty.”

Gomez decided to share Hamlet’s amazing spirit with the world, documenting the pig’s more fun side on an Instagram account that now has almost 350,000 loyal followers. Her posts continue to entertain and inspire fans all around the world. Whether she’s dressing up for Halloween, hanging with other four-legged friends, or just cuddling up with her parents, Hamlet brings joy and happiness wherever she goes!
