Meet Big Bad Santa, the Father of 5 Bringing Christmas Cheer Through Weightlifting

For all the non-believers out there, we have proof that Santa exists … and he’s jacked. “Big Bad Santa,” aka Albie Mushaney, is a 43-year-old father of five. He struggles with Type 2 diabetes (maybe it’s all the cookies kids have been leaving for him to eat on Christmas Eve) and happens to be a strongman competitor. Although he began power-lifting in the ’90s, he called it quits after he gained weight suddenly and had a few bad lifts. Twenty years later, he’s decided to give it another go — and a good one at that. Mushaney’s goal? To be the world’s strongest Santa.

After he started training again, Mushaney’s diabetes has become more stable, and he’s even toned a bit. Big Bad Santa can now dead-lift a truck, so we’re sure he he’ll have no problem lifting the heavy sacks of toys this year.
