Meet the 2023 SI Swim Search Final 12

The competition for this year's SI Swim casting call is mighty fierce.

The 2023 SI Swim Search Final 12 has officially been revealed–and this year's lineup is pretty impressive.

In case you don't know, SI Swim Search is an annual casting call that provides opportunities for both aspiring and established models to meet with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit team in the hopes of being featured in the brand's iconic print issue or on its digital platforms.

Over the years, the competition evolved from utilizing only in-person casting calls in select cities to including social media and The Swimfluence Network app, allowing for even more submissions and increased diversity among candidates.

Achieng Agutu

Content creator and confidence advocate turned model Achieng Agutu describes herself as an “education baddie.” The New York-based social media guru known on Instagram and TikTok as @noordinarynoire first became recognized for her comedic monologues discussing what average, everyday bodies look like. She now empowers her 800,000 followers through her lifestyle content as a Black woman who is passionate about education, fashion, skincare and beauty. The 26-year-old is originally from Kisumu, Kenya, and before her modeling journey, she studied public relations and Spanish at Goshen College in Indiana and later international marketing and business analytics programs at Cambridge, Massachusetts' Hult International Business School.

Nina Cash

Nina Cash, 56, is a retired university associate dean and model from Long Beach, California. She has over 30 years of experience in education, training and workforce development and holds multiple advanced degrees, including a doctorate in educational leadership. She's also a mom of three.

Sharina Gutierrez

Sharina Gutierrez, 32, has been in the modeling industry for about 20 years and previously worked with brands like Ralph Lauren, Estee Lauder, Rimmel London and Reebok. She is also the daughter of immigrants and very proud of her Filipino heritage, even helping to launch Mama Mantra, a brand that focuses on spreading positivity and encouraging parents and children to believe in themselves and break barriers.

Adison Justis

Adison Justis is a 21-year-old model and college student from Rockford, Illinois. Currently residing in Los Angeles, she previously served as an intern for producer Lori Rothschild Ansaldi and is working on attaining a degree specializing in criminal justice reform.

Jenna Kutcher

Jenna Kutcher, 34, hosts The Goal Digger Podcast and authored the book, How Are You, Really? The New York Times bestselling author and entrepreneur describes her current mission, outside of modeling, as helping women feel empowered and take control of their lives.

Penny Lane

Hailing from Cheshire, England, this 27-year-old dreamed of becoming a model for as long as she could remember and moved to London at age 16 to pursue her career. But after meeting with industry titans, Penny Lane felt pressured to lose weight and undergo a breast reduction, which created an unhealthy relationship with her body and even compromised her fertility. Through her experience, the model became a certified holistic health coach and has since continued working to inspire conversations surrounding mental health and body image.

Acacia McBride

Acacia McBride is a 25-year-old model and digital creator from Starkville, Mississippi that has already been featured in international campaigns for brands like Sephora for Patrick TA, Beauty Blender and TooFaced Cosmetics. Before moving to Los Angeles to make her dreams of modeling a reality, she received her B.A. in communications from Clark University in Atlanta.

Nana Meriwether

Nana Meriwether is a former Miss USA and a two-time All-American volleyball player from UCLA. The 37-year-old is also the founder of Navina, a wellness company focusing on alcohol alternatives, and co-founder of the Meriwether Foundation, an international non-profit organization focused on improving health and empowering communities. In addition to her business pursuits, the model–who was born in South Africa and raised in Potomac, Maryland–has also contributed to multiple publications, including Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair and Vogue Australia.

Brittney Nicole

Relatively new to the modeling scene is Brittney Nicole. The 32-year-old is originally from Augusta, Georgia, but has traveled extensively through her Navy career, which also had her living in Gulfport, Mississippi, Guam, Spain, Israel and Japan at different periods of her life. After completing her contract, she embarked on what's become quite a successful modeling career, even walking at New York Fashion Week.

Mahalia

Mahalia is a 30-year-old Maori and Irish model from Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. Working in the industry since she was a teen, Mahalia has appeared in campaigns for brands in Australia, London and America. She co-founded the social activist group Shine4Diversity that challenged the Australian fashion media, highlighting stigmas surrounding people of color through empowering imagery and storytelling. She graduated from Curtin University with a business degree and a specialization in communications and perspectives with indigenous businesses.

Jena Sims

Jena Sims reigns from Jupiter, Florida and at 34 years old, she's the founder and president of HBBQs, Inc. (Has Been Beauty Queens), which puts on the Pageant of Hope™ and is now considered the most inclusive pageant in the world. Before her work in non-profit, Sims attended Belmont University and won her first beauty pageant in 2005, which inspired her to start HBBQ pageants.

Berkleigh Wright

Berkleigh Wright is a technical account manager and analyst originally from Lawrence, Kansas, and currently residing in Denver. The 28-year-old earned degrees in strategic communications, business and psychology from the University of Kansas while working as a Denver Broncos cheerleader. She also mentors in the Denver community, working closely with the Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders and Dare to Cheer programs, Children’s Hospital of Colorado, Boys and Girls Club of Denver, as well as Habitat for Humanity.
