Ever dream of living like royalty? Here's your chance: A 10,800-square-foot castle in Michigan just hit the market for $2.3 million.

Located in Oakland Township about 30 miles from Detroit, the regal estate—which sits on 6.25 acres—was completed in 1990 and boasts five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Medieval amenities include a moat, two watchtowers and two gates, a drawbridge, an underground cave (complete with a Jacuzzi!), trap doors, and a genuine portcullis (a metal-and-wood gate typically seen in medieval fortresses).

According to the listing, the dwelling was built using 60 tons of steel and took six years to construct. At 60 feet tall, it's higher than a typical four-story building.

According to the New York Post, a local businessman started building the home in the mid-1980s for him and his two children to enjoy. He later sold the property in 2015, but lived there through 2019.

“It was a give and take between what really could happen—and a dream for a homeowner where money was no object," listing agent Michael Kuligowski recently told Realtor.com. "He wanted to have a home that was something he dreamed about as a kid. To live in the house would be like living in a kind of childhood dream for someone who grew up idolizing the Knights of the Round Table and living in the Renaissance era.”

“Even the door hinges are very Victorian-style and there are details around the home that are undoubtedly castle-like and timeless," Kuligowski adds. "It was custom-designed to be a 15th-century-style English castle.”
