McDonald's Is Offering Free Meals to Teachers and Other Educators All Week
The primary perk of a job in education is that lasting sense of accomplishment, knowing you've set young minds down a path to success. But some free food never hurts, either. So all this week, McDonald's locations nationwide are giving away free meals to America's educators — a small gesture to make mornings brighter for those hard-working people who keep our schools running.
"Together with our owner/operators, we're proud to serve the people who make our communities a better place, and this is an important time to say thank you to some of our everyday heroes," Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald's USA, said in announcing the promotion. "We were honored to give away 12 million free Thank You Meals to first responders and healthcare workers last year and now, with educators going above and beyond, we're excited to recognize them in a way only McDonald's can."

The chain explains that all educators — "such as teachers, administrators and school staff" — can claim one of these "Thank You Meals simply by presenting a valid work ID during breakfast hours from October 11 to 15 at any participating McDonald's. Each meal comes with a choice of an Egg McMuffin; Sausage Biscuit; or Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit, along with hash browns and a medium hot or iced coffee or soft drink. And to brighten up teachers' days even more, the meals come packaged in a classic Happy Meal box.
Finally, McDonald's is also encouraging everyone to use the hashtag #ThankYouMeal across social media platforms to share thanks with educators that have inspired them. As McDonald's explains, "From spotlighting the most heartfelt thank-yous on our social channels, to local owner/operators surprising teachers with a breakfast delivery to their school, we'll celebrate select educators across the country in big and small ways."
