McDonald's Is Bringing Back a Long-Awaited Dessert Item to Its Menu

Berry fans rejoice, because McDonald's has reportedly brought back its popular Strawberry & Crème Pie dessert for a limited time.

Though the fast food chain has not made an official announcement regarding the popular dessert item, the Snackolator Instagram account posted last week that the pies were retuning to replace McDonald's Holiday Pies, and that they have already been seen in some markets.

The McDonald's website describes the "sweet and creamy" Strawberry & Crème Pie as being made with strawberries and vanilla flavored crème, baked side by side in a sugar-coated flaky crust. The treat, which is 280 calories, will be available at participating McDonald's locations for a limited time.

To see whether your local location carries the pie, customers can download the contactless Mobile Order & Pay app with Curbside pickup.

According to Mashed, the pies first became available in springtime of 2012, alongside a seasonal strawberry milkshake. Though the Strawberry & Crème Pie has returned a handful of times over the years, it was last brought back in March 2023 for a limited time, with one social media user spotting it as late as June 2023.

When the Strawberry & Crème Pie was first introduced, it cost just 89 cents. However, depending on the market, you can expect to spend anywhere between 99 cents and $2.50 on the sweet treat these days.

Though McDonald's is known for teasing customers by with limited edition season menu items, such as the Shamrock Shake and McRib sandwich, the company has lofty plans heading into 2024. In addition to overall bigger burgers, the chain recently brought back the Snack Wrap as well as the Double Big Mac for the first time since the pandemic, and also has plans to revamp its proprietary Big Mac sandwich.
