McDonalds' Super Popular Spicy Chicken Nuggets Are Back On The Menu

From Delish

Update, January 25, 2021: Months after McDonald's Spicy Chicken Nuggets were so cruelly taken away from us, they have returned! The chain announced that they're back on the menu and we couldn't be more excited!!

Chewboom first spotted the news that these nugs had made their grand return and when we checked out the McDonald's online menu, we saw the good news for ourselves! Now, just like last time, they'll only be sticking around at participating locations for a limited time, so, again, just like last time, DO NOT HESITATE to get these. Seriously, last time they were SUPER popular and got to be hard to find so, we see a 40-piece in our future...

Original, August 25, 2020: McDonald’s is taking its classic chicken nuggets up a notch by offering a spicy version of the meal as well as a new hot sauce to go with it. Both will be available for a limited time starting September 16, so prep your taste buds now.

The Spicy Chicken McNuggets are the fast food chain’s first-ever flavor play on its iconic menu item since its inception in 1983, according to a press release. The nugs come breaded with a tempura coating made of cayenne and chili peppers. The new Mighty Hot Sauce–the chain’s first new dipping sauce since 2017, BTW–is a blend of crushed red pepper, spicy chilis, and garlic with a little sweetness added to it. If the nugs aren’t spicy enough for you, don’t complain: Smother them in sauce!

Even the most hardcore spicy food devotees know it’s nice to cool off once in a while. To help you achieve some relief, McDonald’s is also offering a new Chips Ahoy! McFlurry for a limited time starting September 16. It’s made of vanilla soft serve (you know, if the machine is working) blended with Chips Ahoy! cookies and caramel topping. The caramel sounds like a nice touch, no?

Thanks to these limited time (and hopefully, eventually permanent) menu items, all of us non-pumpkin-spice lovers out there have our own spice-centric eats to obsess over this fall. And if you like both, then you're in for a wonderful season when it comes to food options.
