If you’re like we are, you love a good pastry (despite all the health risks at hand). That’s why we hate to break this bad news to sweet treat lovers and McDonald’s fans alike: the fast food chain plans to discontinue their McCafé Bakery items soon. Say it ain’t so!

That’s right: despite the dear place they hold in our hearts, we’ll have to say goodbye to those beloved McDonald’s baked goods. Get all the details below.

McDonald's to discontinue McCafé items

As if it wasn't enough that the Snack Wrap was taken away from us, now McDonald's customers have to bid another farewell—or three farewells, in fact. The infamous burger joint recently confirmed that they'll be phasing out the Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin, and Cinnamon Roll starting next month. Time to enjoy as many as we can before they're gone!

"We’re always listening to our fans and adjusting our menu based on what they crave," reads a statement from McDonald’s USA. Luckily, they confirmed that treats like McDonald's Chocolate Chip Cookies, Baked Apple Pie, and all of their ice cream goodies will remain on the menu. Plus, we have new McFlurry flavors to look forward to!

The departing McCafé bakery items initially replaced the once widely enjoyed all-day breakfast menu. We have to admit we do miss being able to order a McMuffin at midnight, but the introduction of these baked goods was certainly proof that when one door closes, another one opens... and the same is likely true this time around.

Remember when McDonald's was testing Krispy Kreme donuts at select locations earlier this year? At the limited locations in Kentucky that offered donuts, McDonald's served up Krispy Kreme Original Glazed donuts, raspberry jelly-filled donuts, and chocolate iced donuts with sprinkles. Rumor has it that this deal may go nationwide after the McCafé items are discontinued. We'd be pretty happy with this tradeoff!

But what do you think? Would you rather keep those Blueberry Muffins on the menu? Let us know in the comments!
