On one hand, we love hearing about the other delicious bites fast food restaurants have overseas, but we’d be lying if we said it didn’t make us drool in jealousy. That’s certainly the case with McDonald’s Australia, because they are serving up Mini Hotcakes with Nutella.

Hotcakes are McDonald’s version of pancakes and are served in Australia as well as in the U.S. For the limited-edition treat down under, they come in a miniature version and have a layer of creamy Nutella, a sweetened hazelnut cocoa spread, in between the two.

“Nutella + Macca’s Hotcakes, together at last! Our famous Hotcakes made mini, with a delicious layer of creamy Nutella,” the description says. Each order includes two, which means there is a total of four hotcakes. They’re listed under both breakfast and dessert, so it sounds like lucky locals can order them at all hours of the day and night.

McDonald’s Australia announced the menu item on Instagram in December 2020, noting that it’s only available for a limited time. The treat is served hot, so we picture it to be a warm, gooey, chocolatey bite that will keep us coming back for more. Too bad we won’t be finding out unless we magically get a plane ticket.

The good news is, however, is that since McDonald’s in the U.S. has hotcakes, you can simply get an order and fill it with your own Nutella. Hey, desperate times.
