Update: December 2, 2020

Today is the day we've all been waiting for, people! After announcing the return back in October, the McDonald's McRib sandwich is finally back at locations nationwide. Not to be dramatic...but this is HUGE.

Like many discontinued items at fast food chains, the McRib has popped up for a limited time at select locations over the years. This time around it's making its way to menus nationwide, which is the first time since 2012 it's been that widely available.

This means no matter where you are in the US of A you'll be able to head over to your McDonald's spot and get the smoky, tangy sandwich for yourself. Just a reminder the sandwich includes seasoned boneless pork in barbecue sauce, slivered onions, and pickles on a bun. Getting hungry yet? You know what to do. See ya in the drive-thru line!

Fast food chains removing your favorite menu item is a heartbreak that can be hard to get over. You can try to make a copycat recipe at home to ease the pain. But sometimes you can get lucky and the chain will bring the item back, even if just for a limited time. With that being said let's cut to the chase—the McDonald's McRib is back, baby!

On December 2, McDonald's locations will bring back the fan-favorite menu item. The McRib comes back every so often, but it's usually only available at select locations, making it hard for everyone to get their chance to order it. Thankfully, Mickey D's is blessing us this year and will be bringing back the McRib to locations nationwide. This is the first time it's been brought back at all locations since 2012. So, yeah, it's a pretty big deal!

For those who have never tried a McRib before, or those who just want a little reminder, it's a sandwich that features seasoned boneless pork that's lathered in smoky, tangy barbecue sauce. It's then topped with slivered onions and tart pickles on the bun to round out the flavor profile.

With the chaos of this year, the nationwide re-launch of the McRib is one thing we can all look forward to. Mark your calendars and set your alarms for December 2, because you'll want to head to McDonald's that day for lunch...and dinner...and possibly a late night snack, too.
