The Duttons have met their match.

In the all-new Paramount+ series Mayor of Kingstown, you'll meet the McLuskys, who hold just as — if not, more — power over the people in their small town as the Dutton family. There are striking similarities between the two, which shouldn't come as a surprise since Mayor of Kingstown and Yellowstone both come from the mind of Taylor Sheridan. While it isn't a Yellowstone spin-off per se, the new series promises to bring the same high-stakes drama that fans know and love.

Details about the show are slim, but continue reading to find out details about the show's release date, storyline and casting.

When is the Mayor of Kingstown release date?

Block out your Sunday nights: Mayor of Kingstown will follow Yellowstone's lead by releasing brand-new episodes every Sunday, starting Sunday, November 14. The Paramount+ series will debut one week after the show's season 4 premiere, but fans should tune into the Yellowstone premiere (as if that was even a question) to get a sneak peek of what's to come. Following Yellowstone's two-hour premiere on Sunday, November 7, Paramount Network will show an exclusive look at Mayor of Kingstown and 1883, another Sheridan-led project coming to Paramount+ in December.

Who's in the cast?

Jeremy Renner will star as the title character, Mike McLusky. "In a world otherwise forgotten in society, Mike serves as a flawed system of checks and balances," Renner told Deadline. Kyle Chandler will play opposite as Mitch McLusky, "a fixer both inside and outside the prison system in a town where the prisons are the economic engines to the city at large," per Deadline. Dianne West will round out the McKusky clan, playing Miriam, the family matriarch who teaches at the Kingstown Women’s Prison. The cast also includes Derek Webster, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Hugh Dillon, Pha’rez Lass and Tobi Bamtefa.

What is Mayor of Kingstown about?

The show tells the story of the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, a small town dominated by the prison system. Together, they tackle "systemic racism, corruption and inequality" in hopes to bring "order and justice to a town that has neither," per the show's official release.

In the trailer, we see how Mike McLusky earned his title as "Mayor of Kingstown" — through acts of good will, power and, at times, deception. Take a look at what we can expect from the "fix-it men, part-time gangsters" in the show's debut season.

When talking to Deadline, director Antoine Fuqua revealed that the show's main themes are as relevant as ever: "The series offers a comprehensive look into the brutal prison system where sociopolitical issues run rampant. Prisons are a forgotten world to most of the population and yet represent a microcosm of society as a whole."

Will there be a Yellowstone crossover episode?

We hate to break it to you, but it seems highly unlikely that we'll see John Dutton riding horseback in Kingstown. The new series takes place in an entirely new universe — one far, far away from Dutton Ranch.

How can I watch Mayor of Kingstown?

On November 14 and beyond, you can find Mayor of Kingstown exclusively on Paramount+ (not to be confused with Paramount Network). Subscription plans start at $4.99 a month, but you can test it out with a seven-day free trial. The only downside: If you cut the cable cord altogether and want to stream Yellowstone and Mayor of Kingstown, you'll have to splash out on Peacock (Yellowstone's exclusive streaming service) and Paramount+.
