Mayim Bialik and boyfriend Jonathan Cohen are taking some time off — but it's not for what fans may think.

In a new post uploaded to the Jeopardy! host's Instagram, she revealed a new development in her working relationship with her podcasting partner. The two signed up to participate in a Global Day of Unplugging on March 3, where the two will choose to cease using their digital devices for 24 hours. As The Big Bang Theory alum writes in her caption, there's a lot more behind this initiative than just staying off of social media.

"We talk a lot on the [podcast] about the benefits of unplugging from technology, and you're invited to help us put those words into action!" the Mayim Bialik's Breakdown host wrote on February 27. "Join us in Global Day of Unplugging this Friday March 3rd to celebrate human connection over digital engagement."

Mayim continued: "Global Day of Unplugging is a 24-hour period, running from sundown to sundown. We encourage you to take this day to carve out precious time to unplug, relax, reflect, be active, visit the outdoors, and/or connect with loved ones."

When followers caught on to Mayim and Jonathan's weekend plans, they decided to share their thoughts about it in the comments. Turns out, a lot of people loved the idea of stepping away from technology.

"Ironic that’s it’s also Shabbat, also a day of rest!! Love it," one person wrote on Instagram, referencing the weekly Jewish ritual of the Sabbath. "I think I need and deserve one day of unplugging, so let's do this," another noted. "Yes. Yes. Yes I am more than up for this 👏👏👏👏👏," a different user added.

So, what exactly is a Global Day of Unplugging? According to the official website, the annual event began in 2009 and it's always held the first weekend in March. What's more, this isn't just an initiative for the United States. Major cities throughout the world (like London, Paris and Amsterdam) are participating as well.
