Maya Rudolph's Orange-Sequin Gown Is the Most Divisive Dress of the 2020 Oscars

From Good Housekeeping

Ahead of presenting an award at the 2020 Oscars, Maya Rudolph made a huge statement with her outfit on the red carpet, and the internet can't stop talking about it.

The 47-year-old Bridesmaids actress looked radiant as she showed off her gorgeous chin-length blunt hair cut and posed on the red carpet Sunday night in a burnt orange-sequin-covered caftan, reportedly made by Valentino. To complete her ensemble, Maya paired her floor-length gown with gold sandal heels and dangly green earrings, which the Saturday Night Live comedian said were once worn by Beyoncé, according to Women's Wear Daily.

Upon seeing the look, #Oscars Twitter instantly started going nuts. Most folks gushed about how much they loved Maya's bold color choice, calling it "red carpet perfection" and "phenomenal."

Then again, there were some who didn't seem too crazy about Maya's outfit choice. "Pretty sure Maya Rudolph fell into glue and then fell into sequins and just went with it," one Oscar viewer tweeted. "I love, love, love Maya Rudolph, but she is currently getting swallowed by a coral orange disco ball. No lie," another remarked.

Maya has never been afraid to be a dare devil on the Academy Awards red carpet. Last year, she showed up before the Oscars ceremony wearing a floral bubble gum pink Giambattista Valli dress with a ruffle cape. If you ask us, her risk definitely paid off.
