If you spend your time wishing you could look more like Maya Jama and less like a potato goblin (me), then listen up. First of all, I'm sure you don't look like a potato goblin, or at least you're a cute one (again, me) and second, just take to the star's recent interview because she's been sharing beauty secrets.

Now, we know there's a top tier stylist (we see you Jay.B) involved and extensions in and out, but Maya undeniably has gorgeous, luscious, long, thick hair. It looks stunning in its natural curls but also fabulous straight or in bouncy blows, beachy waves. But it doesn't transform like this without a lot of heat and manipulation, and we can't lie, with all that styling, we did wonder how her hair is still soooo glossy and healthy.

Turns out it's down to a little DIY with Maya telling Vogue: "Because my hair gets styled so much and fried the life out of most of the time on set, I do little home remedies." And the first, as all the best are, was inherited from her mum; "My mum has the best long, thick, natural hair, down to her belly button, and she always put warm olive oil in it, and wears her hair in a slick bun overnight."

Looking at a pic of the pair from a few years ago, it looks like it's working, and we're very here for hair oiling on the Cosmo beauty team.

The second was... a little more unusual; "You can make a mask out of olive oil, raw eggs, banana, avocado and honey," said Maya. And here's where it gets really interesting; "Mix it up – it goes into a weird paste – and then put it in the microwave so it’s warm. Douse your hair in it and put a plastic bag over the top and tie it, so it gets a bit sweaty – keep it on until the egg starts smelling like omelette, and then wash it off."

Yes, for real. Maya Jama uses a hot egg hair mask. But sign me up, please, because look at her locks.

Praising the concoction she explained that "it gives an extra shine and my curls are better and more defined. I think it’s all the proteins in the ingredients. I try to do it once every couple of months, when I remember."

Maybe this caused the recent supermarket egg shortage...
