Maya Jama and Ben Simmons have reportedly split up

Maya Jama and her fiancé Ben Simmons have reportedly called off their relationship, just eight months after the 26-year-old basketball star proposed. The couple has apparently been struggling with their busy schedules and careers, as well as trying to maintain a long-distance engagement. ICYMI, Maya is based in London while Ben is based in Brooklyn, New York, where he plays for the Brooklyn Nets.
Speaking about the reported breakup, a source told the NY Post that it was "one of the hardest decisions of their lives," and that "while they both care for each other so much, they truly gave it their all and realise that they just come from two different worlds."
The source continued: "It's been a difficult time for them. They now understand they don't have the time they thought to dedicate to this relationship." The insider also revealed that the pair had "many long nights and hours of heartfelt talks," however sadly came to the conclusion that "as much as they love each other, their nonstop careers and endless travel have made it incredibly impossible to make it work."
But despite this romantic break-up, it's believed that the newly 28-year-old and her 27-year-old partner hope to remain in each other's lives, as "there is a lot of love between them."
Maya has still been active on her social media, though, as she recently enjoyed a girls' trip to Ibiza to celebrate her 28th birthday. Posting a series of snaps on her grid of her and a friend partying, along with some jaw-dropping solo shots, it looks as though the presenter (who has been tipped to host the next season of Love Island), is just trying to live her best life atm.
