There May Soon Be a Vagina Museum

Did you know that there is a penis museum? There is. It's in Iceland. Did you know that there is apparently no museum dedicated to vaginas? There apparently isn't, and U.K.-based YouTuber Florence Schechter is, as she puts it, "pretty miffed" about it. That's why she has launched a fundraising campaign to create the first "physical space wholly dedicated to vaginas and the people who have them," which she introduces in this video.
"There's no vagina museum. Anywhere. In the world," Schechter says. "There's some traveling art pieces and a few mini galleries and there's a virtual museum, but there's no place dedicated to the female anatomy." Schechter has set up a Patreon page to raise money for the "legal fees and admin fees," "travel to go and visit experts and specialists," and website creation she says will go into the development of her museum. She also plans to host vagina-centric events "where I can find out what people actually want and need — things like feminist comedy nights, films screenings, plays, workshops, classes." Given how hard it still is for many people to even say the word "vagina," much less differentiate the vagina (the internal canal) from the vulva (the external female genitalia), the discussions Schechter seeks to promote are sorely needed. And it only seems fair that if there's a penis museum, there should be a vagina museum too.
