Max Moffatt's been coming up in the park scene for a few years now, but this winter, he's emerged as a truly showstopping talent.
Every trick in this video perfectly blends innovation with technicality to such a degree that the English dictionary, with its compendium of nearly limitless phrases, falls flat.
Many of these maneuvers are so intricate that I barely know where to start in describing them without throwing an economical use of language out the window (which I might have already done with this honker of a sentence).
For instance, that last trick. It involves a butter, a cork, and a little 180/revert at the end. Sure, you could say, "Nose butter cork 900 revert out," but that's a bit of a mouthful and is basically Greek to anyone who doesn't obsessively watch park skiing.
If anything, the fact that Moffatt's moves defy easily-digestible language is a testament to his talent.
Unfortunately, the slushy skiing shown here isn't public access -- it's only available to those participating in one of many race, mogul, and park camps that occupy Horstman Glacier during the summer.
Arguably the most prominent of these camps is Momentum, a storied summertime operation frequented by campers and visiting pros alike.
