The strangeness around Demi Lovato's recent breakup from Max Ehrich continues. Over the weekend, Max was spotted crying alone on a beach in Malibu, the same one where he proposed to Demi in July.

In photos obtained by TMZ, Max can be seen sitting alone with his head in his hands. Meanwhile, "Demi has been acting as though she was never engaged to Max and that their relationship never happened," a source told Us Weekly. "She is still not speaking to him and fully cut him out."

Fans of Demi's had some thoughts on Max's weekend excursion to the beach, and they took to Twitter to share them.

On top of all of this, Max recently followed Selena Gomez on Instagram and played her song "Ice Cream" on an Instagram Live. Selena and Demi fans alike took note of this thanks to old screenshots found last month where Max was seen tweeting about his love for Selena.

Breakups are hard, and hopefully everyone is OK, but this is getting messy and, honestly, I can't look away.
