Maude Apatow Calls Sydney Sweeney an "Unstoppable Force" in "Time Magazine"

It's a fact that Syndey Sweeney has had a meteoric rise to fame, from her impactful appearance as Eden Blaine on The Handmaid's Tale to her starring role as Cassie Howard in Euphoria. To celebrate her Emmy-nominated achievements and further cement her place as a silver-screen starlet, Time Magazine honored Sydney with a spot on its coveted 2022 Time100 Next list. And who better to share some words about Syd than BFF and Euphoria co-star, Maude Apatow?

"2022 is the year of Sydney Sweeney and I’ve had a front-row seat," Maude starts, explaining her relationship to The White Lotus actress, before moving on to describe that fateful hot tub scene Sydney "dreaded" shooting in Season 2.

"Stressed-out from guilt, jealousy, horniness, rage, and from being hammered, Cassie finally throws up in the middle of the hot tub," Maude says. "Sydney juggles all of those emotions in a fierce, comic ballet that only she could pull off."

Apatow then shares the sweetest words about Sydney, saying "I’ve never met anyone who works harder or who is more inventive. One moment she will make you cry tears of laughter and the next she will break your heart."

"Sydney is an unstoppable force," she says, detailing that in addition to acting, Sweeney can "produce a movie, fix a car, fight you MMA-style, and dazzle on the red carpet all in the same day."

Finishing off her eloquent depiction of Sydney's talents, Maude leaves us with a personal memo, saying "I am so excited to see what my friend will do next. Whatever it is, I will be watching no matter where my seats are."

The snippet that Maude wrote appeared next to dazzling, Old Hollywood-inspired photos of Syndey. Styled by Molly Dickson, Sweeney wears a black Miu Miu gown with criss-cross straps and a bow on the chest. The dress was paired with a black feather boa and sating opera gloves. Sydney also wears a silver sequined, mock-turtleneck top and a golden pleated gown with dramatic sleeves in the series. To complete her glamorous look, hairstylist Glen Coco created retro waves in Sydney's long blonde locks and make up artist Melissa Hernandez applied a classic red lip and winged eyeliner.
