Matthew Perry’s Dog Has Apparently Been Living With Ex-Fiancée

As the world grapples with the loss of actor Matthew Perry, rumors have been swirling. It is still unknown exactly what contributed to the drowning of the “Friends” star in his hot tub. Additionally, many have been wondering about the future of the actor’s dog, Alfred. While early reports indicated “Friends” co-star Lisa Kudrow would adopt the dog, new information from People indicates that’s not the case. In fact, it appears Matthew Perry’s dog has been living with his ex-fiancée.

Source says Matthew Perry’s dog was not living with him at time of death

A source confirmed to People that Alfred, the doodle mix that Perry adopted as a puppy in 2021, was not living with Perry at the time of his death on Saturday. Rather, the pup has been a regular feature on the Instagram account of Molly Hurwitz, Perry’s former fiancée.

The couple started dating in 2018. In November 2020, Perry announced their engagement. Then, in June of 2021, they split.

Since that time, Alfred has appeared in multiple photos with Hurwitz on her Instagram account. The most recent post was on Sept. 18, 2023. In a carousel of photos, the adorable doodle was seen snuggling with Hurwitz as well as with one large black dog and a tiny Chihuahua.

“Alfred is three. He is very annoying a lot of the time, but he is truly the most loving potato,” Hurwitz wrote in the caption. “He entered my life during some dark depression, and he helped get me far away from that. He is also cute as all fuck. Cheers to you, Alfredo.” Hurwitz added a pair of heart emojis and the hashtag #adoptdontshop to the post.

Confusion grows over where Alfred lives

The comments section continues to grow on Hurwitz’s most recent post of Alfred. Fans seem to be desperately trying to determine where Alfred will live in the wake of Perry’s death.

“Molly will you take care of Alfred now? He’s going to need a lot of loving,” one commenter wrote.

“I hope you get Alfred now,” another said.

“Will you be adopting him?” someone else asked.

It appears as though Alfred has been living with Hurwitz for quite some time. However, there is still a lack of clarity over what his life will look like going forward. One thing’s for sure: there’s no lack of love for this pup.
