Zoom’s group video calling is hosting class, work, and movie nights for all kinds of quarantined folks — why not bingo night, too? Led by Matthew McConaughey, residents at Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living in Texas enjoyed a virtual game of bingo, and the footage of their banter is precious.

McConaughey called the letter-number combinations from his kitchen, joined by his wife Camila Alves, his mom, and two of his three kids. “We got an I-24, I-24!” the actor announced in the clip. Then the whole group erupted with cheer. “We got two winners!” he exclaimed. If that moment doesn’t make your heart swell, we don’t know what would.

The Enclave shared the video on Facebook. “Ever play virtual bingo with #MatthewMcConaughey? You’d be a whole lot cooler if you did!” the post read. “Thank you to Matthew, his wife Camila, and his mom Kay for hosting our residents for a few rounds of virtual bingo! Our residents had a great time playing, and they loved talking with Matthew about his family heritage and his favorite drink.”

At the time of publication, the post had over 1,000 shares, and lots of supportive comments. “That’s fantastic and hilarious! I love this idea! I know they enjoyed it,” one person wrote. “It’s REALLY hard on the seniors right now!” Another added, “Outstanding! This is one of the coolest things I have seen in a very long time.”

“Alright alright alright! Best shelter in place video guest ever!” someone else commented.

The residents thanked McConaughey by decorating cards and sharing them in another Zoom video. “During a time when we are all working to make lemonade out of lemons, we are so humbled that Matthew took the time to play our favorite game with us,” The Enclave wrote on Facebook. “As Matthew would say, let’s turn this red light into a green light!”

Additionally, William Swearingen, senior VP of sales and marketing at Spectrum Retirement, thanked the Interstellar star in a statement to Good Morning America. “The generosity and kindness Matthew McConaughey and his family showed our residents was beautiful, but more importantly we were gifted with a humble message from his heart,” he said. “And for that, we will be forever grateful.”

Fingers crossed that he started a virtual bingo trend worldwide, because we need more content like this!
