Actor, producer, and writer Matt Damon is selling his home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles for $21 million. The seven-bedroom, 10-bathroom dwelling, purchased by Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, in 2012 for $15 million, appears quite modern from the outside, but plenty of mahogany wood details lend a warm and natural aesthetic inside.

The main living space features a sitting area in an atrium with 35-foot-high ceilings, a dining area with Asahi glass walls, and another section which is currently home to an intricately carved wooden pool table. Mahogany floors and ceilings can also be found throughout the rest of the home, such as in the bedrooms, walk-in closet, bathrooms, and more. The residence was built by Grant Kirkpatrick of KAA Design.

Outside, the .68-acre property features a pool, a large Hawaiian-inspired lanai (complete with a television, chandelier, and heat lamps) for outdoor dining and lounging, and a koi pond amid the tropical-feeling landscaping.

Other amenities in the house include a game room, a bar, an office, a gym, a media room, staff quarters, and this wine storage and tasting room.

Mansion Global reports that the Ford V Ferrari star is selling the home because he plans to relocate to New York City. In 2018, Damon made headlines when he purchased a penthouse in Brooklyn Heights for $16.7 million—the most expensive property in the borough at the time. In April 2020, that record was broken with the sale of a penthouse in Quay Tower at Brooklyn Bridge Park for $20.3 million.

Damon finally moved in to his pricey home this summer after being stuck in Ireland at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. “He closed off the street all day and parked an enormous big red crane right in the middle of the street. There was no sign of Matt, but he had a huge team of contractors and there were shrubs, decking, and huge crates filled with stuff going up in the air to the terrace. We were all waiting for the grand piano to be wheeled out,” a Brooklyn Heights resident told Page Six at the time.
