Matt Damon Buys $16.745 Million Brooklyn Property—the Most Expensive Brooklyn Sale Ever

Matt Damon is now the proud owner of a gorgeous Brooklyn Heights penthouse—and for a record-breaking price. The Bourne Identity actor just purchased a $16.745 million premium penthouse that spans 6,201 square feet and has six bedrooms and an expansive terrace. After shelling out slightly more than the full asking price of $16.65 million, he now owns the most expensive property ever sold in Brooklyn, beating out the previous record of $15.5 million for a townhouse bought in Cobble Hill in 2015.

The penthouse, located in The Standish, a historic building, is comprised of several units and includes exquisite detailing, including Austrian white oak flooring, Bertazzoni Italia and Bosch appliances, freestanding tubs, rain showers, and Fantini fixtures. The Standish was originally built as a hotel in 1903 by acclaimed Brooklyn architect Frank S. Lowe, and has since been mentioned in such fictional works as Death of a Salesman and Superman, where it was the fictional home of Clark Kent. Damon also owns properties in Miami and Los Angeles.
