Master & Dynamic is delving deeper into the music industry. The New York-based audio brand known for their specially engineered headphones has tapped Erik Madigan Heck as resident creative director.

“Erik is an acclaimed photographer and artist with an innovative and unique visual aesthetic who also happens to love music and all things creative,” said Jonathan Levine, founder and chief executive officer. “Art, photography, film and design are important parts of Master & Dynamic’s — and our customers’ — DNA, and having Erik to help spearhead new creative initiatives in this role strengthens our connections to our customers and the creative community.”

“I was drawn to the Master & Dynamic brand because of their approach to quality and design,” said Heck. “I’ve been an avid music connoisseur my whole life, so this partnership allows me to really explore bringing my aesthetic approach to a new medium….Working with music is also exciting because it’s a side of me that the public doesn’t yet know. I will help tone both the visual arm of the brand, as well as begin to develop the video and music side of Master & Dynamic.”

In the role, Heck will provide creative guidance to the company, as well as spearhead a new program, In-Residence, which will serve as a collaborative effort between the company and the music community. In-Residence will involve a rotation of artists, featuring them across Master & Dynamic’s existing platforms, including its social media channels, blog and SoundCloud page.

The first artist to be featured in the program, which officially launches today, is American singer-songwriter Diane Birch, a Michigan-born musician who specializes in soul and blues.
