Massive Moose Darts Under Colorado Chairlift

Breckenridge Resort, Colorado, opened for skiing and riding recently, and it wasn't just skiers who were stoked on the freshly groomed piste.

In a video shared to Reddit by u/UgoNespolo, an enormous moose darted below one of Breck's chairlifts during the resort's opening weekend.

With their vast infrastructure and available amenities, modern-day ski resorts are one step away from theme parks like Disneyworld. This makes it easy to forget that ski resorts are shared spaces also occupied by inhabitants of the natural world. Hence the shock of a moose showing up to enjoy Breck's opening weekend festivities.

I think the moose is owed a free lift ticket and ski rental for showing up, but that's just me.

Speaking of skiing moose, if a moose were to go skiing, would it have four small skis for each hoove or two long skis that carried two feet each? It's an important question, one that may or may not keep me up, tossing and turning, later tonight. Feel free to reach out if you have any insight.

As for Breck, the Coloradan resort kicked off the ski season this past Friday, November 10th, offering lift-accessed turns via the new Five SuperChair. Since then, Breck has expanded terrain offerings.

If you're in the area, make some turns for those of us still waiting on snow. Just make sure to keep your eyes peeled for that moose.
