Masserants celebrating 60th anniversary

NEWPORT — Richard M. and Barbara P. (Agocs) Masserant are observing their 60th wedding anniversary today.

The Masserants were married April 18, 1964, at St. Patrick Church in Carleton.

The couple has six children: Jay Masserant of Toledo, Brent Masserant of Newport, Duane Masserant of Monroe, Kari Hoffman (Masserant) (Rick Hoffman) of Monroe and Tara Saunders (Masserant) (Nils Saunders) of Temperance. Another son, Dean, is deceased. They also have 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Masserant worked for General Motors. Mrs. Masserant worked as a licensed practical nurse at Mercy Hospital in Monroe.

The Masserants enjoy cooking and spending time with family. They are members of St. Charles Catholic Church in Newport.
