Massachusetts Ski Area Preparing For Powder Filled Weekend

The "most accessible resort in the East", Wachusett Mountain in Princeton, Mass, is gearing up for the storm pumping this weekend, and people couldn't be more stoked on it.

In a post to Facebook yesterday, officials at Wachusett posted the weekend weather forecast, highlighting the 6-12 inches headed straight to the mountain.

In an update this morning from Wachusett Mountain, Lucas gave a snow report saying that "today we have 12 trails and 5 lifts open for you" with a base depth of 17-21 inches.

So far, it has been a slow start to winter for the East Coast, with serious rains draining the snow when it does fall.

The warm and inconsistent weather seems to be matched by this weekend's snowstorm, however, as many resorts across the East are scheduled for a dump.

Additionally, he upped the expectations of this weekend's snowstorm to 8-12 inches instead of (a still respectable) 6-12.

Today at Wachusett it is sunny all day and the mountain is operating under its normal hours, 9-9:30pm (yes, they have night skiing)!

Lucas interviewed a random snowboarder on the hill, asking him how conditions are on the mountain. The snowboarder looked excited, reporting that "conditions are great, they're making a ton of snow! Everyone should come down this weekend 'cause it's gonna be awesome."

What happened to no friends on a powder day?

From a Mass--uh, rider, even more surprisingly!

Jokes aside, we're stoked for everyone skiing and riding the East this weekend.
