Season 2 of the smash hit The Masked Singer is just weeks away from premiering and we've honestly never been more excited. If season one taught us anything, it's that we all will once again be treated to an array of bizarre costumes, cryptic clues, and shocking reveals week after week.

While we still have some time before the premiere date, there have been hints dropped here and there about what fans can expect in the upcoming season. For starters, Rob Wade, President of Alternative Entertainment and Specials at Fox Broadcasting Company, said that the second season will be "even more fun, weird, and wonderful than the first."

In what ways, you ask? Here's what we know about The Masked Singer season 2 at the moment:

The Masked Singer season 2 will air starting Wednesday, September 25 on Fox.

In a special two-hour episode, The Masked Singer will come back at 8 p.m. ET. After the first week, each episode will last only one hour and air Wednesday nights at the same time. Once this season concludes, season 3 will begin right away after next year's Super Bowl on February 2, 2020.

Season 2 of The Masked Singer will have the same judges.

The promo image that announced the show's renewal featured all four judges from season oneRobin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger. In other words, be prepared for more of Ken's hilarious quips and Nicole's bizarre guesses.

It's not yet confirmed, however, that all four judges will be included in season 3.

Nick Cannon will also resume his hosting duties.

Like the judges, Nick will be returning to host The Masked Singer. When talking with People, he made it clear that he really loves the program ... and also said he wouldn't mind competing on the show someday as the "male version" of the Lion.

"It's a singing competition, [the] people that are really there are singing their hearts out trying to win this show," Nick said.

You can watch season 2 of The Masked Singer on Hulu.

That is, if you won't be watching in real time on Fox Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. Just like with the first season, you'll be able to catch the singing series on the streaming service or on FoxNow, which is available on Google Play, iTunes, Kindle Fire, Roku, Apple TV, FireTV, Xbox, and Google Chromecast.

(Side note: If you have one of the 70+ cable providers that supports FoxNow — including Xfinity, DirecTV, Dish, Time Warner Cable, AT&T U-Verse, and Verizon FiOS — you can access The Masked Singer by signing into your cable account.)

If none of that works for you, don't fret. You'll be able to go to the Fox website to watch all previous episodes when you have some free time.

Some of season 1's masked singers might be returning.

Yep! Good news, Monster and Poodle fans. According to Entertainment Weekly's interview with Craig Plestis, the show's executive producer, "some of the older characters" might be making another appearance ... though "not in a competition way."

As Craig perfectly puts it, "You never want to say completely goodbye to the Hippo." No, Craig, we really don't.

There will be "even more major celebrities."

That is, according to Nick Cannon. The show's host promised The Hollywood Reporter that some bigger names would be involved this time around (though, of course, he wouldn't spill who exactly had signed up). On top of that, Nick teased a bit about season 2's costumes — and they sound pretty epic so far.

"I've seen a few of the costumes for season 2 and they're spectacular," he told the outlet.

The "spectacular" costumes include a flamingo, skeleton, eagle, and more.

How do we know this? The show released a teaser video in July that revealed some of season 2's ensembles and, well, we're happy to report they're as wonderfully weird as ever. See for yourself in this promo clip:

And when you're done watching that, take a look at the most-recent teaser below. The clip reveals that a green monster, spider, purple flower, ice cream cone, Christmas tree, dog, and panda will also be taking the stage.

In the first season, the process of creating the costumes from scratch was intense, to say the least. As Entertainment Tonight reported, costume designer Marina Toybina first had to draw 20 ideas over the course of three weeks. Once the network and producers picked their favorites, she and her team had to make all the get-ups in under two months. Given how the costumes look in the above promo, it's safe to assume that they'll be super elaborate once again.

Scroll through the photos above for more sneak peeks of the ensembles to come.

It'll be tougher to guess who's behind the mask.

If you had a hard time figuring out season 1's contestants, brace yourselves. When The Hollywood Reporter asked what Craig would've changed about the first season, he said he wished the clues were even more difficult.

"The one thing I want to try to work on in season two is that combination of giving enough clues out to America so they can be involved in it, but not giving so much that we give everything away," he explained. He also noted that security would be much more "stringent" the next time around to further ensure that nothing leaks.

Jenny McCarthy added that the celebrities themselves are keen on making things complicated.

"The contestants are playing with us. Like, literally they know the show now. So they come in saying 'Okay, I'm going to mess with the judges and the audience. I'm going to throw my voice, I'm going to put on a whole different persona,'" Jenny explained to Cinema Blend.

Barack Obama has been invited to compete.

Craig previously said that it would be amazing if the former President would come on the show to try his hand in the singing competition. Alas, Craig isn't really sure Barack would accept, but then again, never say never!
