'Masked Singer' Fans Have Thoughts About the Show Coming Back in December
Fans of The Masked Singer have really been through it this season.
In October, they had to endure a two-week episode break because of the World Series airing on Fox. Now, because of the Thanksgiving holiday, dedicated viewers will have to wait again to see the Tree, Flamingo, and Thingamajig perform — as it turns out, there's no new Masked Singer episode airing on Wednesday, November 27. *Cue the dramatic "NOOOO!"*
To reward fans for being so wonderfully patient though, the show announced a special two-night holiday event airing on Tuesday, December 10 and Wednesday, December 11 at 8 p.m. ET. While we're not entirely sure what this will entail — Thingamajig in a Santa hat, the judges rockin' around the singing Tree, perhaps? — it sounds like the episode will be part of the semifinal round.

Though the majority of fans seemed ecstatic about the announcement, many wondered if this was a sign that the show was going on a hiatus again. "I hope this doesn't mean we have to go another two weeks without the show," one fan wrote. "Is there still new episodes up until then?" another asked. A different fan inquired, "Wait .... you mean we have to wait until then to finish watching??? Huh!"
When is the next new Masked Singer episode?
Fans will be happy to know that there will be a new episode airing between now and then — the next episode is set to air on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.
We know what you're wondering: why not air a new episode the Wednesday before Thanksgiving? This time of year, many folks are too busy traveling, watching football, or spending time with family to keep up with new episodes of their favorite shows — as a result, many network ratings dip. If we had to guess, this is part of the reason why we typically have to wait until after Thanksgiving to see new episodes.
Regardless though, we're definitely going to miss seeing the remaining masked contestants take the stage this Wednesday. But at least we can rest knowing that they'll all be back very, very soon.
