"The Masked Singer" Fans Think Black Widow and Flamingo Might Be Cheetah Girls

Cheetah-licious.

The Cheetah Girls might have gone their separate ways when the final movie aired in 2008, but fans of the group have been holding out hope for a reunion (or a reboot) ever since. Well, we might be closer than ever thanks to Fox’s singing competition show The Masked Singer.

If you're unfamiliar with the show's format, it works like this: celebrities from all realms perform in costume as a panel of judges (and the audience) try to guess their true identity. Meanwhile, whoever loses a given round has to reveal themselves. After watching the first few episodes of the The Masked Singer season 2, fans of the Cheetah Girls are convinced two of the contestants — Flamingo and Black Widow — might be none other than Adrienne Bailon and Raven-Symoné.

Fans are certain Raven is the one behind the Black Widow mask after hearing her belt out some serious notes in her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”

“I've grew up watching Cheetah Girls.. IF THAT'S NOT RAVEN SIMONE I'M DONE. I'M DONE. I. WILL. SCREEEEAM,” a fan commented after watching the performance. “Watching #TheMaskedSinger and the Black Widow is definitely Raven-Symone,” someone else pointed out.

Apart from the actual performance, fans think they could be in the right after the program yielded some valuable clues about Black Widow’s identity. “Making the guess now that the Black Widow is Raven-Symoné. She's from Georgia (the peach reference), or was in the movie State of Georgia, and in the package there was a Crystal ball making me think of That's so Raven!!” a fan theorized.

Likewise, they began to speculate Adrienne could be behind the mask after Flamingo performed “Lady Marmalade” last week and the Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker” in the most recent program — keeping in it in the Disney family? Especially since her clues also seem to match up.

“I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. This #FlamingoMask is CHEETAH-LICIOUS,” one fan pointed out on Twitter watching the episode. “THATS ADRIENNEEEEEE HOLY SHIT SO WE GOT HALF THE CHEETAH GIRLS HERE WHHAAAAAA,” another one added.

Following fan speculation, Adrienne herself took to Twitter to (seemingly) deny the rumors. “Ok WHOA! This is getting crazy. Seriously... I WISH I had time to do #TheMaskedSinger! Lol. Love you guys for thinking of me though,” the singer wrote. But then again, and as The Masked Singer account hinted at, would she really reveal her identity like that?

Given the mounting clues and the fact that their voices do sound eerily familiar to the voices of the amigas cheetahs, fans are more than hopeful for a potential reunion (even if it’s in a face-off) because, in the end, we too are fans for life — and if doesn’t pan out that way, some are ready to risk it all.
