'The Masked Singer' Fans Say Jesse McCartney Just Gave It Away That He's the Turtle

From Good Housekeeping

As season 3 of The Masked Singer progresses, the internet continues to suspect Jesse McCartney is the man behind Turtle's shell. Now though, after seeing one of Jesse's latest Instagram posts, fans are all but certain they are correct.

The "Beautiful Soul" singer has recently been posting a lot about his new single entitled "Yours," which came out on April 10. But when he shared a video of himself singing his new tune while at home in quarantine, folks couldn't help but draw an instant connection between his and Turtle's vocal talent.

Take a listen:

Right away, Masked Singer fans flooded Jesse's comment section with turtle emojis. "LOVE THE SONG TURTLE 🐢," one fan wrote. "You're definitely turtley enough for The Turtle Club 🐢," another joked while quoting The Master of Disguise. "DEFINITELY THE TURTLE ON MASKED SINGER," a different fan declared in all caps.

We have to give it to the internet detectives out there: When you compare Jesse singing in the above video with one of Turtle's season 3 performances below, the voices sound pretty much identical:

So wait, is Jesse McCartney really Turtle on The Masked Singer?

Vocal similarities aside, the clues revealed in Turtle's weekly clue packages continue to line up with facts about Jesse's career. For instance, we know that Turtle is somehow linked to a surfboard, burgers, the amount $10.13, and the Korean city Seoul.

It all matches up. The surfboard in the clue package could reference Jesse's appearance in the teen drama series Summerland or his many Teen Choice Award wins and nominations (in case you didn't know, Fox gives out surfboards to the winners). As for the burgers, there's a popular meatless burger company in the U.K. called Linda McCartney's. The $10.13 price tag, meanwhile, actually corresponds to Jesse's initials when connecting the two numbers with the alphabet — "J" is the 10th letter in the alphabet and "M" is the 13th. Finally, as his devoted fans are well aware, Jesse is known for his mega popular 2004 hit "Beautiful Soul." Seoul, soul, you get the picture.

In short, yes, there's a very strong possibility that Jesse is Turtle. There's also a strong possibility that we'll have to wait until the season 3 finale on May 27 to find out if we're right — after all, Turtle is a serious contender for the title this year. In the meantime though, we'll keep our eyes peeled for more potential clues on Jesse's Instagram.
