'Masked Singer' Fans Are Confident That Jesse McCartney Is the Turtle

With season 3 of The Masked Singer wrapping up on May 20, viewers are now very confident in their contestant predictions. Take Turtle for instance — according to fans, the costume alone is a major giveaway that the person underneath the spiky shell is an edgy singer. Are they right, though? Who knows at this point, but nonetheless here's what the internet is saying about Turtle.

Who is Turtle on The Masked Singer?

So far, here are the clues revealed about the punk-rock reptile:

• Turtle is donning a black studded leather jacket and is holding a yellow guitar in one promo for the show.

• The same video also showcases a framed purple jersey with a "C" on it and a team photo on the wall.

• Turtle was surrounded by other "hungry newcomers" at the start of his career and felt like everyone around him was fighting "tooth and nail for the dream."

• Turtle has a connection to a surf board and always takes things "step by step."

• Turtle believes "slow and steady wins the race."

• Turtle has a connection to burgers or cooking out.

• The rock-and-roll reptile is "hardcore about being the best."

• Turtle flaunted a comic book with a price label of $10.13 for his super clue.

• Turtle wrote "Don't rave ever at my school — turtle" on a chalkboard.

• Turtle is "on the hunt for booty."

Going off of that evidence, it appears the internet has collectively agreed on a few possibilities:

Jesse McCartney

All over the internet the "Beautiful Soul" singer's name is getting tossed around. Not only does Turtle sound like Jesse, but the clues add up. The burger part of Turtle's first clue package could be included because Jesse shares a last name with a popular meat-less burger brand in the U.K. called Linda McCartney's. The surfboard in the clue package could represent Jesse's stint on Summerland, while the references made about fighting for "the dream" could hint at his time in the boy band Dream Street before going solo.

Speaking of Jesse's old boy band, it just so happens that the first letters of each word in Turtle's chalkboard note — Don't rave ever at my school, Turtle — spell out, yep, Dream Street. Oh, and remember that $10.13 super clue? The 10th letter of the alphabet is "J" and the 13th is "M." IDK, sounds pretty convincing to us!

Joey McIntyre

Though the majority of folks seem convinced it's Jesse, some are leaning more towards the former New Kids on the Block member. Why? Well, the clues do match up quite a bit. Turtle referenced taking things "step by step," which happens to be the name of a New Kids on the Block hit. Even though Joey's band member Donnie Wahlberg would make more sense in terms of the burger clue (since he's the owner of Wahlburgers and all), judge Jenny McCarthy (also, Donnie's wife) thinks it was actually a sign that Turtle knew Donnie. What's more, The Masked Singer sent a tweet about Turtle to Joey on Valentine's Day ... which is pretty suspicious, if you ask us.

So, is Turtle either one of these musicians? Honestly, we think it's Jesse, but hey, we could be wrong!
