  • Who is Jellyfish on season 4 of The Masked Singer? We reveal fans’ top theories below.

  • If we had to guess based on what we know so far, we’d say Jellyfish on The Masked Singer is Marsai Martin.

Making major waves on The Masked Singer stage this fall is the tentacled (and talented) Jellyfish. In signature Masked Singer fan style, viewers have somehow taken the very limited information Jellyfish has provided and built a compelling case for their identity.

But first, viewers had to go fishing for clues, starting with the creature's glowing-green costume. Jellyfish sports a stunning neon trench coat, platform boots, and a head of wavy tentacles that give this contestant serious Medusa vibes. Despite Jellyfish's eerie appearance, the contestant insists that she was born for the limelight.

Who is Jellyfish on The Masked Singer?

First, here are the clues we’ve rounded up:

  • For their first official clue, Jellyfish said, “Brr, I assure you that even though I may be cold-blooded, I have a warm and glowing flow with H2O.”

  • In another part of the announcement video, Jellyfish declared, “I’ve got this competition marmalade in the shade” alongside a video of jelly spread on toast.

  • In a recent TikTok posted on The Masked Singer’s official account, Jellyfish said “hmm?” in a tone that viewers say sounds high-pitched.

  • In their clues package, Jellyfish reads from a fairy tale called "The Little(ish) Jellyfish." She says that, once upon a time, she "reigned supreme over an entire underwater kingdom." But after a while, her "castle started to feel like a gilded cage."

  • Jellyfish calls herself a "princess."

  • Imagery of Japanese fans, a tiara, pipes, lyrics to Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy," a neon sign that says "GlowJella," selfie-taking, an angelfish, and baby powder all appear in a clue package.

  • Jellyfish sang "Big Girls Don't Cry" for her performance.

Based on that limited information, fans think Jellyfish could be:

Fans have put forth seemingly hundreds of different guesses, ranging from Billie and Paris Hilton to Yara Shahidi and Meghan Markle. But this WWE wrestler, otherwise known as Naomi (the girl that glows), is one of the most logical guesses we’ve seen so far. “I think this is WWE superstar Naomi,” wrote one fan on YouTube. “The pattern on the costume resembles some of her old ring gear.” Plus, the wrestler’s catchphrase is also “feel the glow,” which would fit Jellyfish’s neon costume and reference to “glowing flow with H2O.”

That said, we haven't yet discovered a strong connection between Naomi and the other clues, such as "marmalade" and baby powder, just yet.

Child actress and producer Caila Marsai Martin is a 16-year-old wunderkind known for her roles on the comedy series Black-ish and the film Little. She is also producing the film Queen, which could be a direct tie to Jellyfish's tiara.

One fan commented on Instagram, "The Little-ish book in the package could mean Black-ish and Little," and added that Marsai is popular on social media — she has more than two million followers on Instagram—which could explain Jellyfish's selfies in the clue package.

For her 15th birthday party, Marsai also hosted a glow-in-the-dark themed celebration and called it "the glo up," which could be a connection.

Retired Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney could well be on her way to a storied music career. Entertainment Weekly reported in September that an Olympic gold medalist would appear in this season of The Masked Singer and viewers are confident it's McKayla.

"She is our athlete and Olympian this season," one fan wrote on Reddit. "She is known as the princess in the gymnast group (i.e. the tiara), is known for being in the part[y] scene now (i.e. glowchella), and the coast to coast clue fits [due to] all her competitions she is in!"

McKayla released a single called "Wake Up Call" in early 2020, so we know she has interest in singing. She also takes a lot of selfies, something she and Jellyfish have in common. In addition, she's quite "little"— she stands at 5'3". But is this enough to make a definite call? Only you can decide that!
